Text Box: Training musically from an early age in piano, guitar, ukulele and flute. Flip’s passion for music and performance spawned a career beginning very early with cultural dance groups and talent contests taking him around the ACT and NSW regions. He soon started working with choirs, vocal groups, performing in cabaret shows, theatre restaurant and musical theatre.

A flexible vocalist singing in over 6 languages, with the ability to switch between theatrical, classical and jazz styles to the more commercial styles of pop, rock and R&B. He regularly performs at corporate functions, live events, festivals and concerts around Australia.

He has performed with Australian artists such as John Farnham, Delta Goodrem, Christine Anu, Rob Guest, Todd McKenny and many more. He has also worked with and supported international artists such as Anthony Castelo, Heiji Allejandro, and YoYoy and Hanna Villame.

In 2000 Flip was invited to join Australia’s Leading Latin band – MI TIERRA as a singer, dancer and flute player. His work with Mi Tierra has taken him around the country playing the majority of Australia’s most prestigious festivals and concert events, also working as lyricist and concert choreographer.

As a choreographer and dancer, Flip directs his own performance group SLAP FUNK. His most notable work  showcased at the star-studded ‘Celebrate! Christmas in the Capital’ Concert at Parliament House, working also with the RMC band of Australia. His work has also featured at numerous AUSDANCE - Dance Festivals and at corporate events, beauty pageants and fashion shows. On occasion he can be found tutoring at High Schools and teaching folk and modern dance with Philippine Cultural Society (PCS) of the ACT and Monaro Regions.

Film and TV credits include the Aria Music Awards, Lantana, Popstars, GMA, Midday and Celebrate! Christmas in the Capital, along with number of short films and Music video’s. In New York in 2001 Flip had castings for the Broadway and American touring company’s of RENT for the roles of Angel and Mark, during which, his audition process was broadcast in a television special on the musical on America’s Fox Network.

As a recording artist Flip (also credited as Phil) spends a bit of time in the studio writing music, doing session work, backing vocals, concept musicals also radio and TV jingles. Some of his musical and vocal talents can be heard on Mi Tierra’s ‘Escuchame’ Album, Tony Magee’s Cabaret collection ‘My favorite singers’ and The 12th Anniversary Darling Harbour CD ‘Viva Fiesta’. 

2005 proved a busy year touring the country with the musical GREASE The Arena Spectacular covering the role of Roger played by Courtney Murphy from Australian Idol fame. Then finishing the year off performing in  the cast of Fiddler on the Roof as a son, also covering the roles of Grandma Tzitel and Nachum in the Sydney Season of the musical starring Topol reprising his multi award winning role as Tevye.

This year Flip toured with the Fiddler company whilst developing various musical projects with collaborator Kuki Tipoki in THE FLIP ‘N KUKI PROJECT. Stay tuned for more details.
